1. “Running Free” – We played this first when we opened for METALUCIFER. It felt so good that we put it first on South of Hell. And it still feels good. I played all of the Adrian Smith parts myself.
2. “Hurry Up and Bleed” – This will probably be in the live set until I die, unless of course the next album contains all songs this good, in which case we’ll drop it. But for now, one of my favorite SUPERCHRIST songs, even though the lyrics are mostly nonsense. What else is new?
3. “None For You” – That’s the way life is, right? Just when you’ve got something all to yourself, some bastard comes in and takes it. Or rapes it, which is also a taking of sorts. This one’s not meant to be funny, but your sense of humor isn’t my problem.
4. “She’d Look Better (With a Black Eye)” – This song doesn’t promote violence against women. It’s not even ABOUT violence against women. It’s about fashion and poor taste in partners. Oh, and it’s meant to be funny, but again, what do I know?
5. “Aim Low” – Finally, an anthem for underachievers everywhere not to bother checking out. We probably should have put a little more substance into the bridge, but hey, when singing about Rome…

6. “Strangers in the Night” – A nice midtempo rocker that reminds me of “To Hell and Black” from Dark & Dirty. Honestly, this song has been through so many revisions that it makes little sense in its current lyrical form. The lyrics date from two Julie Was Right numbers, “Heartthrob” and “Twelve Inch Pianist”. The latter is still intact for the bridge. “Goodtime lovin’ sold by the dozen,” I mean, how can you let that go?
7. “Brown Eye Sees All” – Another tune with deep roots into the Julie Was Right days. The title is from Happy-Tom. Beat that.
8. “Drink or Drown” – We recorded this with the Back & Black sessions but it didn’t make the cut. Check with your local underground tape trading circuit to hear that version, because it is out there. Another year in the practice rotation definitely filled it out. The lyrics are part autobiography and part fiction. When I was a kid I had to beat off to fall asleep. Now it’s a six-pack. The fiction part is embedded in the guitar solo.
9. “Metropolis” – Atmospheric, hazy, upright, magnetic… this song is a bit of a wonder in any version. If we were in the business of releasing singles, I’d push for this one. And it’s nearly older than me. A tough one live because there are only about six words.
10. “Don’t Ride With Superchrist” – Along with “Aim Low”, the newest song to appear on this album. The ending was really tiring. Whorepuncher actually pissed himself out of exhaustion. You should have seen the look on his face.
